Monica passed away suddenly on Monday, May 8, 1995 as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was only 19 years old, so full of life, and oh, so beautiful, as you can see. I remember that day so vividly. We had just got home from picking up dinner and there was a message on the answering machine to call my in-laws as soon as possible. Our hearts just knew something terrible had happened, but we didn't think in a million years it would be something like this. So, Christian immediately called and was told "Monica was in a serious car accident and didn't make it" I remember just holding him while we both cried. Monica grew up in Florida and he was here in Michigan, but they were great cousins and he loved her so. I had only met her one time, but what a wonderful time we had! She certainly made a lasting impression on me. I loved her too. It broke our hearts to lose her. We remember her always and speak of her often. At the time of her passing, our son, Jacob, had just turned one. I remember one of the first things he said to me after he hung up the phone was "She never got to see Jacob." We both knew how much she would have loved him. We made it a point in Jacob's life to tell him about her and when he saw her pictures he always knew who she was. Monica now holds our little Jacob in Heaven. And it comforts us both to know that they are together and watching over our every move. So, we wanted to do this page as a token of our undying love for her. WE LOVE YOU MONICA!! Take care of our Jake for us. We look forward to the day when we are reunited with the both of you. What a wonderful day that will be! |
It was an honor for us to do this page for Monica. She will live in our hearts forever...As much as we miss Jacob & Monica here, it comforts us to know that they are not alone, but together and that their beautful souls will live on forever in us.
